Grows in quite exposed places, sometimes on rocks, in Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay and southern Brazil between 850 and 2600 meters (Padilla, 1973). Noted for its nice perfume, we find it flowers better and lasts longer in the cooler shade-house where it flowers in late Autumn.
